About

Luis is a Brisbane/Meanjin-based freelance filmmaker well-known in the local art community for his ability to transform concepts into cinematic atmospheres that resonate with audiences. Luis started his creative career in sports broadcasting as a director and creative lead, creating content and promotional material for major national sporting leagues and networks such as Water Polo Australia, Rugby Australia, Netball Queensland, Kayo Sports, and Stan Sports.

Wanting to shift his focus to more creative work, Luis decided to dive deeper into the Brisbane underground art scene, leading photoshoots and films for local artists, musicians, and fashion brands. In 2021, Luis co-founded ‘House of Iris’, holding workshops and exhibits showcasing over a hundred of Brisbane’s emerging and established photographers. The events have been part of the Brisbane Fashion Week AU and Brisbane Street Art Festival, acting as a platform for the local photography scene to reach new heights and audiences.

A lot of Luis’ current work derives from his time spent collaborating with local artists, translating what he has learned into creating music videos and short films that aim to create a powerful catharsis for the audience.
